Sun, Sand, and Adult Libations

Destin/Fort Walton Beach…this is our second year going and we stayed at the Four Points Fort Walton Beach. It is a great hotel for us with free breakfast, a couple of pools, and a great white sand beach. They were still feeling the effects of last year’s hurricane (specifically Ivan) and then with Katrina it made it even worse (the beach pool was filled with sand). We had a good time anyway. For us we wanted to only hit a couple of things this time: The Gulfarium for Riley and Pensacola Naval Air Museum for Patrick. Then for an added bonus, Patrick got to meet up with a good old Marine buddy, Captain Tate Buntz, who happened to be stationed at Pensacola. You should of heard Patrick flip back to using his old Marine jargon.

Our typical day was: wake up, eat breakfast, go to the beach, lunch, nap, go to dinner, and sleep. We found some really good restaurants if you ever are in the area

Seafood

  • AJ’s
  • Lucky SnapperDrinking Pub
  • McGuire’s
  • We didn’t do as much exploring as we would have liked this time around because our goal was just to relax.

I do not necessarily like to fly but I fly often enough to realize that this is not natural. Flying is a crapshoot, a gamble with your life – we all climb into the silver tube of death and hope that all 4 gazillion parts will work properly. For me, I always hope that Bernoulli wasn’t drunk. But be that as it may I am off to San Diego to give a presentation on biosecurity to some homeland security conference. I will post it up here if anyone really wants to see it – no takers I presume.

Scott & Tommy are leaving tomorrow to head back to Beaumont. Everything of theirs made it through Hurricane Rita but the town is a disaster. They have heard that the electric won’t be on for another few weeks and without power you really have nothing to do but watch the grass grow. They said that if it looks bad they will be back to stay with us, I hope so. I understand the need to go back to see it for themselves but really why? Let the professionals do what they need to do – clean up and stabilize the infrastructure. We shall see.

As for the development of the site, I am diligently working on setting up a gallery so we can share photos with ya’ll. I am having some coding issues and since I have absolutely no clue what I am doing if anyone wants to help out, feel free to drop me a line.

    More later from San Diego….

    Time to set sail…

Welcome to Southeast of Disorder – The beginning of a personal homepage for Patrick, Sharon, Riley, and Connor Fenneran. We are going to updating the main page shortly (well as soon as Patrick finds the time to build it) but for now, we wanted have a spot for everyone to keep updated.

As for the whole website, we (Patrick) hope that you will find information on our life delightfully interwoven in unrefined nautical “Jimmy Buffett” theme. Why you ask? Don’t ask Sharon, she is just going along with it but for anyone that knows Patrick he has a quite unrefined taste for all things tropical, the ocean, and of course Jimmy Buffett being his first inspiration toward such inclinations deserves a proper tribute.

We hope you enjoy catching up from afar and our only intention is to provide a somewhat more interesting introduction to ourselves than could be achieved otherwise. But if at the very least, these pages warrant a smile, we will consider our purpose accomplished.

    Enjoy
